The Ministry of Defence secured a spot in the semi-finals after defeating the Ministry of Development, 1-NIL, in the quarter-final round of the Inter-Ministry Royal Birthday Trophy 2025 Football Tournament. The match took place at the Track and Field, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, Berakas, 1st September afternoon.

The match saw an evenly matched gameplay in the first half, although the Ministry of Development had greater possession controlling the match. The goalless draw did not last until the final whistle, as the Ministry of Defence scored in the 83rd minute through a penalty kick. With this victory, the Ministry of Defence will face the Prime Minister's Office in the semi-final on the 8th of September.
